Birth Control Near Dunwoody, GA

At Feminist Women’s Health Center, there are many ways to take control of your sexual health. We offer a wide range of safe and reliable birth control options such as birth control (pill), birth control implant (Nexplanon), an IUD, and Plan B. Our educated staff with help you navigate which birth control method is right for you. Our goal at Feminist Health Center is to have a patient walk out confident and educated with their birth control.

Taking a birth control pill containing hormones to stop your ovulation are easy to use and gives you control. The pill reduces period symptoms, and the birth control pill can lighten and regulate your period. Many different options of the birth control pill are available so you can be sure to find the right one for you. IUD stands for intrauterine device that are a small T-shaped device inserted in the uterus. There are two types of IUDs, hormonal IUDs and copper, non-hormonal IUDs. Using an IUD can prove to be some of the most effective, longest lasting birth control methods available.

A birth control implant is a small rod inserted under the skin of the upper arm. It gradually releases a low dose of hormone for three years. A birth control implant is very discrete and can lighten and regulate your period. A type of birth control implant is Nexplanon, Nexplanon can work just as an implant does. Nexplanon gives you great, long-term protection against pregnancy and it’s more than 99% effective.

Feminist Women’s Health Center also provides plan B. Plan B is a safe, effective and affordable means of preventing pregnancy when you have unprotected sex or when your other birth control method fails. Plan B is a pill that you must take no later than five days after having unprotected sex. The sooner plan b is taken the more effective it is in preventing pregnancy. Ideally, plan b should be taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex and plan b is not akin to the abortion pill. Plan B cannot interrupt an established pregnancy, it works by preventing an egg from being released or by preventing it from being fertilized by sperm.
