Atlanta, GA – Feminist Center Supports Former Planned Parenthood Southeast Staff Alleging Anti-Abortion, Anti-LGBTQ Takeover by Executive Leadership
Atlanta, Georgia – Feminist Center for Reproductive Liberation stands with former Planned Parenthood Southeast (PPSE) staff and supporters who allege a hostile, anti-abortion, anti-LGBTQ takeover led by PPSE Interim CEO Mairo Akposé and others. On October 8th 2025, former PPSE staff issued a statement alleging that Akposé dismantled PPSE’s organizational infrastructure, fired key staff including all public policy and organizing staff, and stacked the Executive leadership team with personal connections. These alleged actions closely align with Project 2025’s agenda to dismantle reproductive rights and health infrastructure.
“The allegations about PPSE are incredibly distressing. In this moment of extreme attacks against reproductive justice and so many of our beloved communities — when we have so many reasons to fear and feel unsafe — it is essential that we remain vigilant while keeping our hearts open. We must stay curious about one another, ask questions in good faith, and look to trusted movement leaders for reliable guidance and information. And above all, we must hold one another accountable with compassion and care.
