Feminist Center for Reproductive Liberation celebrates 50 years!

Our History—

Co-founders Lynn Thogersen and Lynne Randall opened Feminist Center for Reproductive Liberation (formerly Feminist Women’s Health Center) in 1976 with a fearless vision and $200 loan from their mothers.

Born out of self-help groups (à la Fried Green Tomatoes), Feminist Center matured from a health center to a pillar of the reproductive justice movement known for our compassionate healthcare, community building, and legislative advocacy.

Read in their own words what our supporters have to say about Feminist Center for Reproductive Liberation’s 50 years of radical visioning.

“Fifty years of Feminist Center represents survival and courage across generations. It means that despite political attacks, stigma, violence, and systemic patriarchy, people continue to build spaces where womyn's choices and dignity are fundamental rights.”

“[Feminist Center’s greatest achievement is] that we’re still here. We continue to do outreach to younger women, we welcome volunteers, and respond to different needs in our community, such as through our Trans Health Initiative.”
