While we advocate for safe abortion care in Georgia, restrictive legislation in other states continues to affect our patients’ access to care. On that topic, one of our patients had this to say:
"Due to the law changing here in Texas I was already too far along when I went in for my check up and they said they could not help me. I called Feminist Women’s and they were very nice and helpful! Due to me living states away, I had to fly there and fly back home the day after my procedure. Feminist Women’s Health Center] navigated me through almost everything, as far as [finding the] closest hotel and a driver that could pick me up and drop me back off at airport. I must say, I had a huge relief once I was on the plane headed back home.”
In a world where abortion is under intense threat from courts, state legislatures, and from anti-abortion activists, helping someone get the abortion care they need is a radical act of love. The care we provide and the movement we’re building have never been more important.
