LBQ Health Care
The Feminist Center provides a safe and
supportive environment for all of our clients, including health
services sensitive to the needs of lesbian, bisexual and queer women.
Queer-friendly gynecological services
We embrace an overall holistic approach
to gynecological health care and wellness, and believe that education
and knowledge are vital to a women's ability to make health care
decisions.
We understand that too many times, Lesbians,
bisexual women, and women who partner with women have previously
faced unique barriers to receiving health care due to their sexual
orientation, such as: patronizing treatment, derogatory comments,
neglect, intimidation, attempts to change their sexual orientation,
hostility toward a same-sex partner, denial of care, and undue roughness
in the physical exam. <more

A Health Empowerment Program for LBQ Women
(Chrysalis Project)
For more than 10 years, the Feminist
Center has offered the Chrysalis Project program as a way to address
a critical community health issue: the emotional and physical health
of young women ages 18-29 whose sexuality is outside the heterosexual
norm. In 2009, we are seeking to assess the needs of this program,
and if you are interested in participating, please click the link
